SUMMARY:Fostering connection: Foster Care\, Complex Trauma\, and Treatment Approaches
DESCRIPTION:Co-sponsoring with MPG Consulting NYC \n\n\n\nInvite you to our Sunday Dialogue Program\n\n\n\nDr. Marina Stolerman\, Psy. D. \n\n\n\nSunday\, November 16\, 2025\, 1:00-3:30 pm (EST)\, on Zoom \n\n\n\n3 CE credit hours for Social Workers\, Mental Health Counselors\, Psychologists and Licensed Psychoanalysts holding licenses in New York State \n\n\n\nThis presentation will review the neurobiological\, emotional and developmental sequelae of early attachment disruptions in children and youth who were in foster care. We will also explore treatment considerations from a psychoanalytic perspective\, including mentalization based therapy and polyvagal theory. Vignettes from a 12-year treatment will be used to illustrate both the challenges and benefits of long-term psychotherapy for a young person affected by foster care. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION IS CLOSED \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresenter: \n\n\n\n\nDr. Marina Stolerman is the Clinical Director at The Fostering Connection. Dr. Stolerman maintains a private practice in New York and New Jersey where she works with children and adults\, and provides clinical supervision. She has a specialty in working with individuals with ASD and ADHD.
